At Tiree Baptist we look forward to welcoming visitors throughout the year, but especially in the summer months we look forward to welcoming visitors to the island.
At Tiree Baptist we look forward to welcoming visitors throughout the year, but especially in the summer months we look forward to welcoming visitors to the island.
On Sunday the 12th of July 2026 the Sunday Gathering of the Church on Tiree was held at the Tiree Music Festival with festival goers, visitors to the island and residents present. Thanks to the Festival Organisers the church on Tiree has the opportunity to meet on the Festival grounds. Ruth Kelso, pastor of the Baptist Church led the gathering and was joined on stage by musicians from the island. It was a day once again for suncream, sunhats and shades.
We are not a building, we are a family, a community
who want to glorify God by enjoying him forever.
On Sundays we would normally have gathered together at Baugh at 11:00am,
but life in Jesus is more than simply a Sunday Gathering, it is a 24/7 adventure.
Ruth Kelso our minister writes,
"We were sad and shocked to wake up to the news this morning that our lovely wee Baugh Church building had burnt down in the night. The building may be gone, but our church is still very much alive and we trust God for our future.
We have been overwhelmed by the kind, thoughtful and encouraging messages sent to us by so many friends, and comments left on our Facebook posts. We are feeling all the love and support. Thank you.
Thank you, also, for all the prayers from individuals, our local Heylipol church friends, church families from our Baptist Union, from around the country and beyond... so powerful for us.
Huge thanks go to our island emergency services... to the police and to our wonderful volunteer fire service, who thought nothing of coming out on Christmas Day night... not the start to Boxing Day they would have expected... what a team!
Thank you to you all... it means so much to this wee island church family.
We will be meeting in An Talla on Sunday mornings going forward."
You will find the church presence on Facebook and YouTube
